George Forster-Jones’s 500th club game

“After a stellar playing career spanning 30 years, beginning in 1982 as a 17 year old playing Colts and progressing through over 150 Premier Grade games, several First Grade Premierships and at least a dozen games for WA (including games against Wales and Ireland) the legendary George Forster-Jones will make Nedlands Rugby Club history tomorrow when he becomes the first person ever to play 500 competition matches for the club.  George will lead the mighty Nedlands Nomads into battle on Saturday against the Cottesloe 4th Grade Gold side and we ask all players, supporters and friends of the club to get down to the Foreshore at 1.45pm to form an honour guard and clap the great man onto the field in what will (probably) be his last home game. At half time in the Premier Grade game club President Hans Sauer will make a formal presentation to George to mark this magnificent achievement of strength, courage, endurance and club loyalty.”
