Neddies has honoured the memory of team mate Mike “Dents” Denton by adding the Bali 10s to the club’s 2013 trophy cabinet.
The win continued a great season for Neddies after the club took out the Cockburn sevens, the Margaret River sevens and both the Premier Grade and Third Grade premiership flags.
The Bali 10s featured more than 20 teams from several countries. After cruising through to the Grand Final, Neddies defeated local rivals Kalamunda 24-7 to take out the tournament.
Neddies devoted the win to former team mate Dents, who died tragically in Bali before the 2011 Bali 10s tournament.
Fittingly, Dents’ best mate Richie “Rat” Naylor captained the Neddies team and played in Dents’ No 10 jumper.
“Everyone in our team knew Dents and we just wanted to win it for him,” Rat told The West Australian newspaper (in below article).
