2014 will once again see the Club Appointed Referee Scheme being implemented. This is a very important programme for RugbyWA as the growth of rugby is quickly exceeding the refereeing stocks within WA. Both Senior and Junior clubs within WA are required to put forward a New Referee for 2014. These individuals will be required to attend a Foundation course and progress through the Refereeing requirements and become a Qualified Level 1 Referee by seasons end.
All clubs are required to have their club referees nominated and registered for a Foundation course by the 1st of March. This will allow plenty of time for each individual to attend a course prior to the season. The programme will be heavily monitored in 2014 and there will be club consequences for noncompliance.
