Nedlands Colts 2014 take advantage of the Development Pathway on offer

With another win 14-20, under their belt last weekend against Associates at Allen Park, the Nedlands U19s are continuing to impress rugby observers as they progress through the season with 10 wins from 11 games to date. The Colts group under the management team of Phil Oddie, Head Coach, Luke Powell, Assistant and Dan Cockburn, Manager have continued to improve and their regular good numbers to training is a feature.

In addition, the boys are taking full advantage of the Development Pathway on offer at Nedlands RUFC by presenting themselves as potential Premier Grade players and impressing all with their skill, attitude and endeavour when given an opportunity at the highest level.

Last Friday night saw Grayson Knapp (2nd row) starting for Premiers against Associates at Allen Park in the rain, play very well and score a try on debut in a tough and bruising win 11-22. Grayson then backed up for the U19 team on Saturday and made an impact when he came off the bench.

Already in preseason we have seen Grayson and Louis Saunder-Loder (Fullback/Centre) mix it with the big boys during the preseason Margaret River 7s.

Since then Jermaine Ainsley (Prop), Louis and Kauri Cudd (fullback/wing) have started in Premier Grade and acquitted themselves very well. Tevin Ferris (flanker) has appeared regularly off the bench and more recently Wade Durrant (lock) and Hershelle Claasen (9) were blooded in Premier Grade with a run off the bench against Wanneroo.

With us now heading into the business end of the season, the U19s have a bye this weekend and will be re-joined by WA Schoolboy reps in Tevin and Kauri for the remaining round games before Finals. Why not come down a bit earlier on a Saturday to watch the Colts in action in their next games starting on 19/7/2014 with a game against Southern Lions (A), Palmyra (H) and Perth Bayswater (A), kick off 1230 hrs.
