The Neddies Colts and Thirds (Championship A) are into their respective Grand Finals on Saturday and Sunday after a weekend of semi-final highs and lows.
The Grand Finals are as follows:
Championship A – Neddies v Mandurah Pirates, 3.40pm, McGillivray Oval.
We encourage everyone to make their way back to the club house after the match, with the Bledisloe being shown on the big screen
Colts – Neddies v Palmyra, 12 noon, McGillivray Oval.
The club house will also be open after this match as well
The Thirds will be defending their premiership title after the ageless Trefor Thomas and his troops defeated Rockingham 12-10 in a close one at Pat O’Hara on Sunday.
It’s a much different script for the under-19s, who will be aiming to become the first Neddies Colts team to win the premiership since 2001. (Neddies won the Division 2 Colts championships in 2006 and 2007).
Led from the front by inspirational skipper Grayson Knapp, the Colts earned their ticket to the Grand Final with a hard fought win over Uni at Pat O’Hara on Sunday. After jumping to a 29-7 lead, Neddies held off a fast finishing Uni to win 29-21 after the students ran in two long-range intercept tries. Playing in front of his visiting parents Doug and Jane, centre Louis Saunders-Loder was in fine form for the Colts, scoring one of three tries and kicking two penalty goals and two conversions.
The Premier Grade team wasn’t as fortunate on Saturday at Hartfield Park, blowing a 20-6 halftime lead to go down 27-26 to Cottesloe after the Gulls kicked a penalty goal on the final whistle.
At The Foreshore on Saturday, Neddies went down to Mandurah 21-15 in Championship B Grade.
So get down to McGillivray this weekend to show your colours and cheer on the Colts and Thirds!
We would like to also remind you that tickets for the Awards Night are on sale at the club, please purchase before Friday as we need to get numbers to the venue.
