Roo, Anaru and Jermaine make Perth Spirit

Congratulations to Neddies stars Mike “Roo” Ruru, Anaru Rangi and Jermaine Ainsley for making the Perth Spirit squad for the upcoming 2015 National Rugby Championship – the equivalent of New Zealand’s ITM Cup.

Halfback Roo, hooker Anaru and prop Jermaine are joined in the Perth Spirit squad by Western Force players Ian Prior and Heath Tessmann, who have both had game time for Neddies this season.

The selections of Roo, Anaru and Jermaine are thoroughly deserved following their dynamic club form. Neddies is also well represented in the “players to watch in the NRC” tipped by rugby website The Roar. http://www.theroar.com.au/2015/08/06/players-to-watch-in-the-nrc/

The website quotes Perth Spirit coach Tai McIsaac as saying: “We’ve got a really good halfback from Nedlands in Michael Ruru. He did get some game time last year [with the Spirit], and he’s really been playing well this year [in Premier Grade]. He’ll put some good pressure on Ian Prior and Ryan Louwrens. And we’ve got a hooker from the same club, Anaru Rangi, and he’s an absolute beast; he’s been carrying well and bashing blokes in defence.”

Roo, Anaru and Jermaine will all be in action on Saturday as Neddies head across the Swan to Tompkins Park to take on Palmyra.

Go you good things!
