A record contingent of Neddies juniors will fly out to Singapore this week to take part in an international junior rugby tournament in Singapore.
Now in its 9th year, the 2015 Centaurs International Youth tournament has attracted almost 150 junior teams from as far afield as Australia, Sri Lanka, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia and host Singapore. The tournament is played over two days this weekend (December 5-6), with pool matches played on Saturday and finals on Sunday.
Last year, Neddies sent teams from under-10s, under-11s and under-12s to Singapore to take part in the Centaurs tournament for the first time.
This time around, Neddies will be sending an even bigger contingent, with four teams from the under-8s, under-10s, under-11s and under-12s all making the trip.
While the tournament is being staged well after the local rugby competition finished in August, some of the Neddies players have been training hard for the past two months to prepare for the hot and humid playing conditions awaiting them in Singapore.
The Singapore tour caps of a great season for Neddies, who were joint winners of the Steve Fink Award for WA’s Best Junior Club.
