It’s a case of so far, so good, at the half-way mark of the competition with Neddies sitting on top of the ladder and in possession of the RugbyWA Cup.
Saturday saw Neddies complete the first nine rounds with a bonus-point win over neighbours Soaks as the boys look forward to a mid-season week off, which could be well-timed as far as injuries are concerned.
Under blue skies at The Foreshore, Soaks were first on the board with a penalty goal. But Neddies responded with three first half tries to backs Lawrence (LJ) Joel, Ammon Matuauto and the 12th of the season for Brody Lam, back from his brotherly boxing support act in New Zealand.
Playing towards The Third Half corner in the second half, Neddies continued the entertainment with three more tries to Riche “Rat” Naylor, Jesse Toto and Mike “Roo” Ruru, with a Soaks try at the death giving a final scoreline of 36-13.
While a club rugby free Saturday this long weekend will create some withdrawal symptoms, Saturday week promises to be a cracker as Neddies head to Bennett Park to take on Wests in a top-of-the-table clash.
And you gotta love that one.
Be there. Be loud. Be proud. GO NEDDIES!!
