It was another cracker of a day at The Foreshore on Saturday as The Third Half hosted another lunch before the Round 13 match against Kalamunda.
Unfortunately the results on the field weren’t as flash.
The earlier results were with the Bulls leading up to the premier grade match, with the visitors winning fourths, reserve grade and drawing in thirds, while the Neddies colts continued their resurgence with a good win over Southern Lions.
While Kalamunda opened with a penalty goal, two tries to skipper Mike “Roo” Ruru saw Neddies take a 12-3 lead at half time.
But that buffer was quickly eroded in the second spell as the Bulls hit back with a converted try and a penalty goal to edge ahead by 13-12.
Winger Lawrence “LJ” put Neddies back in front in the final quarter with a penalty goal to make it 15-13.
But there was still time left on the clock. And enough time for the Bulls to break out of their half and knock over a penalty goal which proved to be the match-winner.
The 16-15 loss was a costly one for Neddies, who surrendered the RugbyWA trophy to the jubilant visitors.
The positive news is that Neddies isn’t too far away from welcoming back a few injured stars….
Round 14 doesn’t get any easier for Dogga’s troops as Neddies head across the Swan to Tompkins Park take on another team with finals aspirations, Palmyra.
Be there. Be loud. Be proud. GO NEDDIES!!
