QBE Spirit of Rugby Long Lunch: A letter to Club Members from Chris Lowson

QBE Spirit of Rugby Long Lunch: A letter to Club Members from Chris Lowson

This is early notice for all club members to put a big mark beside Friday August 9th in your diaries, as this is the date of Neddies’ annual Test match lunch – known as the QBE Spirit of Rugby Long Lunch.

In 2019, our lunch will be starting the biggest weekend of rugby in the history of WA – when the mighty Wallabies take on the All Blacks for the Bledisloe Cup at Perth (Optus) Stadium on Saturday 10th August, just a few weeks before the Rugby World Cup kicks off in Japan. I think the game is already a sellout.

I’m sending this out early for two reasons. Firstly, I want to give you the chance to reserve a place at this lunch which could well sell out, and secondly, as there will be a number of lunches on that day, I want to be sure that you don’t get confused about which lunch is which and buy tickets to the non-genuine article – the proceeds from this one go directly to our Club to foster the development of grass-roots rugby. Also, it’s an awful lot cheaper than others on offer.

As is the case for all our lunches, this one will feature the very best of rugby speakers including Fox Sports host Nick McArdle, Wallabies legend George Gregan and great AB Andrew Mehrtens, with All Black coach Steve Hansen also appearing.

There will be tens of thousands of visitors in Perth that weekend, mainly from the eastern states and New Zealand. If you are going to be hosting visitors, please also remember to include them in your plans for the lunch.

Also talk to your mates / clients in Perth about forming a table or joining one of ours – this is  an event not to be missed!

As I said, it is early days but I urge you to talk to others and book a place. You can reserve a table by completing and submitting the attached form.

Looking forward to seeing you at Crown on 9th August.
