Welcome to 2019

Welcome to 2019

Welcome to 2019

To all Players, Members, past-Members and Sponsors,

This is just a quick note to keep you up to date with matters arising for the Committee.

Welcome to the 2019 Season, that time of the year is upon us again, Super Rugby has started which usually heralds the start of the pre-season training runs for those aspiring to play Prems and Reserves.

It also marks the start for all club members to start marking off their calendars with important dates for the season with these questions being in the top three

1 When does Steak Night Start

Ans – 28th March naturally, First comp game is the 30th Mar at home v Curtin

2 Is there a free sausage sizzle on Thursday nights of pre-season

Ans – Yes but only if you put yourself through the coaches punishing training session, then you’ll wish you had spent more time in the gym rather than having several beers at the OBH.

3 When is the first third half lunch and who will be speaking

Ans – Sign up to the Third half and find out, or contact Rod “Rocket” Jones or Josh “The Mad Scientist” Mylne

There are more important dates coming later in the year and we will keep you posted.

The season will be a cracker and made more interesting now that Curtin Uni have come to the table and entered the premier division.

The first Comp game is 30 Mar at the club v  Curtin who make their Premier grade debut.

Our club could not operate or even exist without the generous and unflinching support of our Sponsors, a Big Thankyou to all our Current, Future, and Past sponsors for making the contributions that has kept this club going over the years.

Matt Caporn and Josh Aislabie our joint Sponsorship Officers will be drumming up further sponsorship prior to the season start, if you are interested in sponsoring the club which means you also get to support anyone of the club sides (apart from Prems and Reserves as they are locked in already).

Once again we are extremely thankful that Kent and Tanya Swick from Swick Mining have come on board as our Platinum sponsor for the 2019 year.

A big thank-you to the long term sponsors of the club:

Social Functions

All I can say is watch this space for these interesting functions.

QBE Spirit Of Rugby Long Lunch – 9th August Crown Hotel Grand Ballroom

For many of us rugby tragics this is the one we have been dreaming of since our First test Match hosted here in Perth waaaaaay back in 1998, a Bledisloe here in Perth.

Well its happening and Nedlands true to form has organised a cracker of a lunch at the Crown Grand Ballroom.

So book yourself and nine mates a table because its time to dust off that old All blacks Jersey, don the black Adidas tracky bottoms and your best jandals and get down to the best pre-game luncheon in Perth.

Richard and Lisa Vaughan and their fellow organisers have put together a fantastic afternoon for everyones enjoyment so get along, book a table it is going to be a cracker!!

Tickets – $190 / head, or $1,900 for a table (This is the best value for money event to go to by a long shot).

Lets make it the best event to be at.

Working Bee

We are planning a working bee for late Feb Early Mar we need as many helpers as possible and will keep you posted.

Yours in Rugby
