Presidents Message for the Masses – 22 July 2019

Dear Nedlands Faithful,

It has come to my attention that we have some supporters who instead of coming down and watching our games think they can now question and advise our coaches and players during games as to why they have made certain decisions during matches.

Please leave those questions and advice after the speeches so the coaches can have a think about what has transpired during the game and spoken to their own players, they do not need the added distraction of a well-intention-ed supporter whose advice is not sought nor required.

As a club our sideline support for our coaches and players must only be “positive! positive! positive!”, and that includes what we shout out to them! Negative and derogatory comments from our own sideline towards our players and coaches is something I do not wish to hear of nor experience

Also I dont understand what has got into supporters heads that they think they can stand or sit next to the coaching box and openly bag and rubbish players actions and question coaches decisions during a game.

This is just completely unacceptable and if I hear it is continuing those responsible will be brought before a club disciplinary committee for a big “please explain” and why they should not be banned from the club.

As a Club we do not wish to see or hear that this behaviour occurrs again this year or into the future!

Regards

Bob Somerville | Nedlands RUFC – President

IN OTHER NEWS
Western Force give back to the rugby community! On Friday 9 August 2019, the Force will play Malaysia Valke at HBF Park in Perth, 6.30pm kick-off (Showcase Match). The match will be played on the eve of the first-ever Bledisloe Cup clash in Western Australia and we are calling on the local rugby community to help make a strong statement of support for the Western Force and Global Rapid Rugby, and in the process, share in the proceeds of the Pacific Showcase Series prize.

Western Force will run a complimentary ticket promotion that will provide Neddies with promotional vouchers and/or digital codes that can be redeemed for complimentary tickets to the Showcase Match.

While the vouchers will enable the rugby community in WA to attend the Showcase Match, it also enables them to generate funds for Neddies own rugby projects. Each ticket redeemed from a Neddies supporter when scanned at the gate will return $2.50 to Neddies.

To get your code, drop a message to Neddies Facebook Page.
