To all the Nedlands Rugby faithfull members and followers scattered around the globe we the 2019/2020 Committee wish you a safe and Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
The Rugby team has already planned an interesting season for 2020 and it is shaping to be an excellent year for the teams on the paddock. Our aim is to again put out 4 teams onto the field each week.
The bigger news is that we are also well into the planning and organising to field a team in the 2020 U21’s competition (old U20’s/U19’s ) that is the breeding ground for future Nedlands Grade Rugby Legends. More news to follow on that early in the New Year including naming of the head coach for the U21’s side.
Off-field we have restructured our finance area with the appointment of a part-time book-keeper to tackle the day to day firm grip on the clubs ingoings and outgoings. We now have to fill the role of Treasurer to oversee the the book-keeping. If you know of anyone willing to take on this role please contact Bob the President via the usual means.
We will also be in need of a new Bar Manager as Vanessa our current manager will be stepping down from the role, so we need an experienced bar Manager with current tickets again contact Bob the President via the usual means.
So in closing out 2019 I want to thank all of the Clubs Volunteers at both the Junior and Senior Club for their tireless efforts in making this Club the Powerhouse of WA Rugby that it is.
Finally I ask you all for the 2020 season to think of the bigger picture and why we spend so much time at the Foreshore – To Make Neddies the Best Rugby Club in Australia. To achieve that we must all be agreed on our direction and values and strive to ensure these are acted on and lived out by all our members.
Have a Great Christmas
Nedlands RUFC – President
